Hansa|GCR will be fielding STEEM (Survey of Technology Evolution in Emerging Markets) in Fall of 2008. This will be the largest survey of its type in the emerging markets. The goal is to help technology companies prioritize resources within and across emerging markets and to understand technology adoption and purchase trends. The focus will be on consumer and SMB needs, barriers and enablers.

STEEM highlights:

  • 10 countries across four continents
  • 10,000+ (Consumer track) and 5,000+ (SMB track) face-to-face interviews
  • Common metric to allow comparison across countries
  • Represents the entire pyramid of consumer and business segments
  • Represents all regions within each studied country, tier 1, 2, 3 cities and rural areas (for consumers)

Resulting analysis will provide a significant level of guidance to not only aid in sizing and profiling consumers, but to segment them based on technology adoption and establish growth opportunities across product categories in these markets.
