GCRGCR began as Griggs-Anderson Research in 1979 and pioneered research in the technology sector, both in the U.S. and internationally. In 1998, Griggs-Anderson was acquired as the custom research arm of Gartner, where the organization continued to expand its broad technology expertise. The division was spun out of Gartner in 2005, and merged with Hansa Research in 2007.
History- Founded in 1979 as Griggs-Anderson Research. Pioneered research focused on the high technology market sector.
- Acquired by Gartner, Inc. in 1998. Primary research center for Gartner, Inc., from 1998-2005.
- Spun out of Gartner in July 2005.
- Acquired by Hansa in 2007.

- 2004: Became the preferred MR agency for clients such as ICICI and Reliance; became one of the top 10 MR companies in India.
- 2006: Won the IOS contract; became one of the top 5 MR companies in India.
- 2007: Entered the US market by GCR acquisition
